MARTÍN GONZÁLEZ…FOR OUR COMMUNITY AND OUR SCHOOLS“González remains the best choice. The community activist and outreach coordinator for TriMet is a thoughtful board member who's unafraid to challenge conventional wisdom. His connection to marginalized students, as well as his sentimental belief in their potential, make him an invaluable voice in a board that occasionally sees equity and quality.” …KNOWS THE VALUE OF PUBLIC SCHOOLSMartín González was the first in his family to graduate from high school. He knows firsthand the importance of a good public education. He’s proud that since 1987, two generations of his family have attended PPS. …FIGHTING FOR ALL CHILDREN“As a community organizer and long-time educational advocate, González has demonstrated a commitment to addressing disparities between high and low income schools. González is well-respected and will provide a voice for the underrepresented in the District. He is an effective coalition-builder who is skilled at finding common ground.” …BRINGING COMMUNITY TOGETHER“We all have a responsibility to ensure our students are successful. I believe we can provide quality schools by building stronger partnerships with communities and parents. I will fight to ensure all students have an opportunity for a bright future.”
